Asbestos awareness is a vital part of any employers training programme for their staff. As exposure to asbestos is the number one occupational killer, our course has been developed to provide the information to enable workers to question any material they feel may be suspected to contain asbestos.

Candidates are shown how to deal with an emergency in case of damaged asbestos, and what to do if suspect materials are encountered in day-to-day activities.

The course has been designed to comply with the latest Health and Safety requirements regarding mandatory awareness training for certain trades and tasks.

The training covers the following topics:

  • Brief History of Asbestos
  • What is Asbestos?
  • Relevant legislation
  • Health risks posed by Asbestos exposure
  • Typical uses and locations Asbestos may be found
  • Procedures to avoid accidental exposure
  • Emergency procedures

This course is aimed at employers and tradespersons who may come into asbestos during their work and specifically, Builders, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Painters and Decorators, Telecom Engineers, Alarm installers, Maintenance staff, Engineers and anyone who disturbs the fabric of a building.
